First week is free!
Kayce and Jae will be focusing the principles of social blues dancing to prepare all y’all for the J&J competition on May 29th. These principles are good for all social dancers to review: teamwork, critical timing, technique, content, musical interpretation and showmanship. Each week they will focus on a different element of dance competition and a style of music. Week 1 will focus on Critical Timing and we will be dancing to Juke/Chicago style blues. Week 2 will be focusing on Technique with Jazz/Blues style music.

Our DJ battle is here! Throughout May, listen to your favorite DJs battle it out during the Tuesday Blues dance. Leslie Stevenson and Derrick Dingman are here tonight to rock your dance world! As they battle each other to ever greater heights of DJ-manship, keep your ears open and get ready to vote for your favorite!

Jack and Jill Competition
Tuesday Blues presents our annual Jack and Jill dance competition this month! Not sure if you’re ready to compete? This is the best place to try it out. Designed for amateur competitors, the Jack and Jill is intended to be fun and welcoming. You do not need a partner to compete, as dancers will be rotated throughout the competition to test your ability to social dance with everyone. Best of all, judges will provide you with valuable feedback on your dancing, encouraging you to greater heights! Are you not sure/nervous about what judges are looking for? Our series lesson this month taught by the fantastic Jae and Kayce duo will answer all your questions. Come try it out for free on May 1st!
The Jack and Jill Competition will be held in Lenora’s Room at 7:30 instead of the regular series lesson. It is free to compete, but you must register at Tuesday Blues beforehand.
